Christine grew up in a small town in Michigan and learned to sew from her mom at age 10. After graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she began her sewing business of selling mostly wrap skirts at the second Chicago Renegade Craft Fair.
After Christine moved to Los Angeles, she began writing for Craftzine, which led to writing her first book, Chic & Simple Sewing: Skirts, Dresses, Tops, and Jackets for the Modern Seamstress published by Potter Craft. She teaches sewing at Sew LA and The Urban Craft Center and to individual clients.
Christine writes for various magazines and her blog, designs patterns and sews clothing. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The New York Post, The Los Angeles Times, Martha Stewart's Radio Channel, People.com, LA Weekly, Daily Candy, NBC's Today Show and more.
