Peach Carr is from Lake Forest, IL. At the age of 50, she launched her first collection of tennis separates soon after appearing on season 8 of Project Runway.
Dubbed early on by Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn as the "queen of country club chic," Peach's line of tennis separates allow women to go from the court to happy hour with a quick change of shoes. Her collection also includes tennis wear for girls, which brings Peach back to her roots, as she designed a line of children's special occasion wear under the label "Mousecakes" for 12 years.
Peach made her first garment (an A-line shift dress) in a 4-H club in the fourth grade. The self-taught designer won many blue ribbons at a local county fair and continued sewing ever since. Currently a freelance designer, Peach's 17-year-old daughter Molly sealed her fate by applying and auditioning for a spot on Project Runway. Her design aesthetic is influenced by her childhood and fashion and music from the '60s and '70s.
